​A third-generation Coloradan, my art is influenced by the landscapes of the Rocky Mountain west — high granite peaks and alpine lakes, the ranchlands of the north Poudre, and the canyons of the desert Southwest.  My painting is also influenced by my work as a photography editor. I look for things that ignite the eye — striking color, contrast, shadow, backlight. I love to see what oils and brushes can convey — the glow of late afternoon sunlight, the color of snow and shadows, the expanse of a Western sky, the expression in someone's eyes.
